    Ski Trip tomorrow!!

    Hello ski and snowboard bunnies!

Not long now until our annual Year ⅞ ski trip!

A quick notice with a few reminders:

    1) Please ensure that your school accounts are up to date, or that arrangements have been made with Sandra for payment. Unfortunately, students who have not paid (or who have not made arrangements with Sandra) will not be able to attend the trip. At the price, we cannot afford to write off any income.

    2) Please be at school at 6:45am (for a 7:00am departure) on Monday 25th August. NOTE: This is after a long weekend, with two teacher only days this week.

    3) If you require any ski clothing, please check with your mates first. If you are still desperate for clothing (i.e. ski pants or jackets) let me know as I may be able to source some for you. I recommend that you wear at least one layer of polypro or merino (leggings and top), a fleece or merino outer layer, a ski jacket or waterproof jacket, and ski pants. Helmets are compulsory, if you are hiring gear they will be provided.

    4) Students need to arrive at school dressed in their ski clothes. Layers are good, as it usually gets hot on the bus :)

    5) Phones are okay on the bus for music only (headphones required) but I will ask that games and social media/ texting are not accessed. Obviously if you need to get ahold of your child, they can text or email you back. We want to avoid the scenario of a silent bus because everyone’s looking at their screens!

    6) PARENT HELPERS! Thank you to everyone who offered their assistance for the day. This year we have prioritized the Year 8 parents, knowing that this is one of the last field trips of their primary years (remember, camp is still upcoming in Term 4!).

    Graeme Teague
    Ian Wallace
    Helen Deavoll

If you are a parent who would also like to come along, the cost is $48 per person. Please let me know if you want to just come up and ski on your own, or if you want to be allocated a group of students to ski or ride with.

Rasjad Addison and I will be accompanying the group in the buses. If you need to contact either of us, our contact numbers are – Rasjad 021 250 5782 and Meagan 021 871 828.

Thank to Paul Deavoll who is going to send out a reminder and update on Sunday afternoon.

The weather forecast (computer generated extended forecast) is for fine weather with light winds. You can check this over the weekend at http://www.metservice.com/skifields/porters

As we are on professional development for the next two days, it will be best to email me. I will also be available on my cell phone over the weekend.

Looking forward to a great day in the mountains!

    Many thanks,

    Meagan Kelly.
